This past Saturday I made my way into London to join up with 20-something bloggers to enjoy an afternoon tea at the Milestone Hotel.
It was nice to see some familiar faces, like Sunny in London.
I've been following Dannielle at ChicaDeeDee for awhile now, this was the first time we got to meet.
I got to chat with a few others, but I didn't take many pictures.
I did manage to get a few of the food.
I love scones, clotted cream and jam!
Now for the hard part. Oh how I hate to give a bad review, but I have to be honest, it was not my favorite.
The London Tube had some station closures delaying people's arrival, but we were served almost an hour after our start time.
The bland sandwiches were no longer chilled, the scones were hard and crumbly and the desserts were just ok.
Typically their afternoon tea has an array of teas to choose from. I guess when you book a private party room, you don't get the choices. We only had the option of English Breakfast or Earl Grey. Fine by me, but others mentioned they would have liked to try some of the other flavors.
The company was great, but the tea was a bit disappointing. Here's to next time! Have a great weekend!!
Next time!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a bit of a shame that at afternoon tea you only get two choices. I'd have thought booking a private room meant more attention and special treatment, not less.
ReplyDeletePity about the tea, but I'm glad the company didn't disappoint! :D
ReplyDeleteAt least your hair looked fantastic! ;)
ReplyDeleteLovely!! Pity that the food was a little disappointing. I wouldn't have bothered with the tea - straight to the champers for me ;)
ReplyDeleteSpot on review Tina. Its always hard to be negative but definitely important to be honest. Sorry I didn't get to chat. .. tube was a nightmare! Next time I plan to get there early! Sarah x
ReplyDeleteIt all looks great but I guess looks can be deceiving! Glad you wrote an honest review though :)
ReplyDeleteSad the tea house wasn't great. :( It's also sad they didn't use pretty tea cups, too. My favorite thing about going to tea houses is using the fancy tea cups!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE afternoon tea! These pastries look absolutely delicious!
ReplyDeleteBummer about the food not being the best, it sure did look tasty though. At least the company was wonderful! :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely!!
ReplyDeleteExactly! Me too!
ReplyDeleteToo bad about the tea and food, but yippee for a girls' day out. And great pictures of you too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for including me! I included in my blog that I was also disappointed with the tea selection. I hear that if you aren't in a private room, the afternoon tea is better. It's a shame our experience was disappointing, but you sure can't beat the company!!
ReplyDeleteIt was worth it to hang out with blogging friends!
ReplyDeleteAww thanks! Missed seeing you though!!
ReplyDeleteIt was great to chat!
ReplyDeleteHa! It was great company though! Missed seeing you!!
ReplyDeleteThanks!! It is nice to have some girl time!
ReplyDeleteThanks!! No worries. It was hard to get to everyone. The tube was a nightmare that day!
ReplyDeleteI wish it had been better, but the girl time with blogging friends was great!
ReplyDeleteI know, right?! Very little character! Oh well, at least it was fun to hang out with blogging friends!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally addicted to having afternoon tea! :)
ReplyDeleteYes it was definitely great company!
ReplyDeleteI remember Selena saying she enjoyed her tea time there. It's a shame they don't go all out for a private party! They should! It was still worth it for the great time chatting!
ReplyDeleteThanks!! I don't like to pass up on a good girl's time!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my heck! all of that looks amazing!!! I can't believe it wasn't the best meal youve ever had.
ReplyDeletewell it certainly looked pretty! maybe i can join in next time! http://thewanderlusthasgotme.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/life-on-carousel.html
