Hi friends! Hope you had a great weekend!
Hello Monday is where I share what we've been doing and greet the new week with a fresh perspective. It's Thanksgiving week and it doesn't matter how many years I've lived away from America, I'm still celebrating! Even though we're not with family, we miss them greatly, and I may get a twinge of homesickness, I am thankful for friends to share in the occasion. It helps alot!
Hello cute house circa 1615.
We have this beautiful street in our town that is lined with sweet houses similar to this one above.
Hello 4 dark 30! This is our 4:30 pm these days. Ugh!
You'd think I'd be use to this having grown up in Alaska!!
Hello my sweet kitty.
It's been so dreary that there have been many days like this!
Hello Sunday morning from under my umbrella!
See! Rainy and dreary!! But it won't stop us from a breakfast date! Each Sunday we take turns taking one of the kids out for a little one on one time. Such a special time!
Hello I AM THEY! "From the Day" has become a fav song and I can't wait to see how your music takes off! Love it!

Hello Reigate castle ruins. The county of Surrey is full of beauty!

What are you saying Hello to?
For my American friends and family, I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Remember Alaskan dark winters?. We are getting true sunlight from about 8:30-3:30 now.
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of 'Hello Mondays.' Mondays are hard enough as it is, so its nice to add a little positivity to them :D.. I just started with a similar idea of bi-weekly Motivational Monday posts! I'll be celebrating Thanksgiving from abroad as well, and then I will finally let myself get into the Christmas spirit! Hope you have a good one and beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteOh yes!! You'd think this would be normal for me. Since I've lived away from Alaska for so long, it's easy to forget!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I've seen so many people breaking out the Christmas decor already. I'll be starting this week sometime! :)
ReplyDeleteSunset today is at 4:01pm! Lexie isn't even home from school yet at that time! So crazy to think we still have another month of increasingly darker days before it starts to get lighter again. I kind of like the dark afternoons, though!
ReplyDeleteI hope you and your beautiful family have a very happy Thanksgiving! xoxo
Isn't that crazy?! I don't mind it as long as I'm snuggled up at home! It's going out in the dark that I don't like so much. ;)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great Thanksgiving too. What are your plans??
Can't wait to listen to I am they, and that little house is about the cutest thing ever! I'm so ready for a little low key family get away, it's been so busy here and a moment of quiet sounds so wonderfully blissful!

Just dinner at home. I'll start cooking at 3 and then Lex will get home at 4:30 and help me until Cory gets home at 6! At least they're letting him off a little early on Thursday for the holiday! I still miss it back in the US when we're all together all day though!
ReplyDeleteThat's early? Wow! What time does he normally get home?
ReplyDeleteI miss it too!! Are you going home for Christmas?
Love this post! I will definitely have to check out I Am They.
ReplyDeleteNot too late - just 7 to 7:30. The first week of every month it's normally more like 8 or later, though. :(
ReplyDeleteNo, not going back for Christmas. Our expat package only includes one return trip home every year and we used ours this summer! We're taking a quick 3-day trip to Copenhagen and then just staying in London for the holidays! What about you guys?
Hello birthday week! Another year older and finally, another year wiser! x

I am saying Hello to vacation this week!!!
ReplyDeleteAre you going away for Thanksgiving? Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteIs it your birthday this week? Happy Birthday! Hope you have a great time celebrating!!
ReplyDeleteYay!! Enjoy! Where are you headed??
ReplyDeleteIt sure is! Thanks Tina!! x
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!! Sun is setting at nearly 3:30 up here in Aberdeen so I feel your pain on the dreary days!! XOXO
ReplyDeleteBeing from America, I always just find it pretty surreal when faced with old buildings--like that house from 1615. There was not a whole lot in our entire country in 1615--it's pretty cool to see that kind of history still standing in other parts of the world!
ReplyDeleteUgh! What time is the sun coming up? In Alaska it would be 10:30 am before the sun was up! I know AR will be a nice break from the drearies! XX
ReplyDeleteMe too! Even though they are everywhere in England I am constantly amazed by the age of some of these homes and buildings!!
ReplyDeleteJerry's parents are coming, so at least we'll have family with us for the holidays. We plan to do some touring around England while they're here.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind it getting dark early at winter like at 6, but 4:30 is too much. When I lived in Dublin, there were a handful of winter days that I swear were dark from 3pm until 9am. It was too much, you went to work and it was dark, you got off, and it was dark again. If it wasn't for the festive holiday lights, I think I would have gone crazy!
ReplyDeleteThose castle ruins! Swoon! Straight out of a fairytale. Like the song, too - very uplifting!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these Hello Blog posts! They are positive and refreshing and I love them! 4:30pm is slightly depressing for night time but just think... spring is only right around the corner!! In 4 months!
ReplyDeleteHappy December xx
Tammy
Thank you! I've really enjoyed doing them!! And Spring? Only 4 months away?? As my kids would say, "That's ages!!" lol!! ;)
ReplyDelete4 30 is too early!! Your kitten and tose beautiful buildings must help to make up for it!
