Preparing For Another Move

If you've read my blog for very long you know we've been anticipating a move to England for a year.

The time has come!!

We had to fill out a fairly lengthy application online.  First, we started by getting a copy of our marriage license.  Luckily, we're currently living in the same county that we filed our license.

We headed to the court house and had our license in a matter of minutes.

I was cracking up as Jerry had to fill out the request form with a flower pen.  So manly, he is!!  Ha!  And such a good sport for letting me post this picture!

We sat one day and filled in FIVE work visa applications!!  For each member of the family the form was about 20 pages!!  My brain was like jell-o afterward!

It was so nice to have it all done and be able to FedEx those forms!!  We were also a bit freaked out!

Why, you ask?

Those applications aren't cheap and if something is filled out incorrectly, you start ALL over!!!

We had some other letters and forms that had to be included with the applications, so from the time we started filling in the forms to putting them in the mail was 8 days.

It took 2 days to get to New York.

By the following Monday we got an email that our application file had been received and opened to begin processing.

By Thursday of the same week we got notification that our work visas were being issued!!  Whoot!

And by 11:25 am on Friday WE HAD OUR VISAS IN HAND!!! WOO HOO!!!

That was the fastest work visa process we have done to date in our 5 country/13 years of living internationally!!

We're scheduled to fly out on Friday, February 15th (still waiting on our company to issue tickets)!!

Watch out England, here comes the Barnwell crew!!

    1. Yep! Just have to get use to different phrasing. We've had English friend across Europe, so we're hoping we have a bit of a head start! =)

  2. How exciting! So glad the process was relatively smooth this time! It is just strange to think that I have now "followed" you across about 5 countries! Can't wait to hear all about your new adventures...

    1. Thank you!!
Strange! I just had a redesign so I wonder if that messed with it, but I can see it. It's down past the "blogs I enjoy" and just below the SITS Girls button. I also have Networked Blogs. Let me know if you still don't see it and I can ask my designer about it. I might play around with moving it up some. Thanks!!
